The most common pharmaceuticals already excreted into our water treatment systems include antibiotics, anticonvulsants, antidepressants, beta-blockers, analgesics, anti-inflammatory drugs, hormones and psychostimulants.
This is a quote from a quite disturbing University of Texas article on the possibility – er – unknown possibility of what effect increased cannabinoid consumption will have on our drinking water. But it's not the cannabis that disturbed me: it was the quote above, after examples of new drugs that have found their way into our water, changed form as a result and now have -in some cases – carcinogenic properties.
If you don't have a water filter that has been shown to remove pharmaceuticals I strongly suggest that it's TIME.
